About Alison and caring for your original art

Welcome and thanks for visiting my studio !

Burnish and Brush Art Studio designs playful and colorful collages which celebrate the wonder of being a child. It's the simple pleasures of youth, such as blowing bubbles in summer, tea parties with her dolls, or his favorite stuffed animal. Within the collage layers you may spy torn text from an old nursery rhyme, the recipe for “bubble Juice”, or the rules for Hop Scotch

My wish is that you find a favorite collage that invokes memories of your childhood which you can share with your child. I love to create art that will not only grow with your child, but will be treasured for years to come.

I love colour, texture and the whole creative process. I find inspiration in the everyday things around me, but especially my young family. Originally from England, I came to Canada in 1988 and finally settled down just outside of Toronto. I launched Burnish and Brush in 2007.

Due to the nature of the handmade process, there might be a small difference between each piece. The paper patterns may be slightly different, but the colour scheme for each collection remain the same. I use non-toxic water based varnishes for the final coat.

The art you purchase is truly one of a kind item - no two pieces of will be exactly alike.

To keep up-to-date with our new artwork throughout the year, please sign up for our quarterly newsletter, or join me on Facebook and be the first to get a peak at what will be on offer.

Caring For Your Original Collage Artwork

As with any original artwork, please avoid direct sunlight for long periods of time. For cleaning, simply use a clean and dry cloth, being careful not to rub the artwork too hard.
